There is certainly importance in being self-reliant; but, there are also many times when a helping hand, a kind word, or an attentive ear lifts us to levels unobtainable on our own.
It’s vital to have a strong support system we can lean on and bounce ideas off of. Sometimes we really can’t see the forest for the trees and need the fresh glance from another perspective to help clarify situations for us.
There are all kinds of resources to support you in reaching your goals.
Those people may be readily available to you, and that’s awesome. If they are, fantastic! Take advantage of the friends, the family, and the coworkers or whoever is there to support you…those people who have no agenda, just genuine concern for you. If that is not something that you’ve got access to, or even if it is, consider any other means, too. Seek out support where you can find it. There are tons of books and videos you can utilize to find support on just about any topic imaginable. On a professional level, a trade group comprised of others, in a similar field of work, can offer solutions to challenges you’re encountering that they may have also faced and overcame.
Then, of course, there is the support system of a coach. Someone who is equipped to empower their clients to create solutions and become the drivers of their own greatness – their own success. You really want to surround yourself with that type of community, with that type of a mastermind group, because that really helps you step into that new reality; the support for that natural ebb and flow that is going to get created through the change process.
When reaching for a new authentic self, a genuine support team will help in the good times and the tough times.
There are going to be great times where we’re excited about the change because it’s all clicking. There will be other times where it’s not and those are tough times…times that you really don’t want to be surrounded by only yourself. Having a support system helps you from falling back on your old habits, or those default tendencies we so often have. You want to have people that help you to chip away to find the true you. Surround yourself with that team.
You can unfilter that reality. You can shift and rewire. You can create that development plan. You can make that energetic commitment. You can cross the line and figure out what those moments are going to be for yourself, and you can figure out that sustainable performance system.
You truly want to surround yourself with that. It’s about creating a world around you while you create the world within you.
All support systems, go! How will you lean into the support you need?
